The Annual Auckland Food Show is one of the biggest and most exciting events in Auckland and attended by people from Auckland and further afield.
From 28th – 31st July this year, it attracted dedicated foodies in their thousands, all excited about sampling new products and flavours, trying out the latest kitchen gadgets and being entertained by their favourite celebrity chefs. It is an opportunity to indulge in the vast array of food samples on offer, regionally and internationally.
There are several hundred exhibitors, all showcasing their products to the many food enthusiasts who head to the Annual Food Show over the weekend, where there is plenty on offer to delight everyone and something for everyone who views this annual event as not to be missed!
Some of the celebrity chefs who appear on our TV screens were there including former MasterChef Judge Simon Gault, My Kitchen Rules judge Robert Oliver, Madame Woo’s mastermind Josh Emett, and also the best-selling cookbook author Chelsea Winter, sharing their tips and tricks on food, much to the crowd’s delight.
For us here at Olivado, we see it as a wonderful opportunity to present our range of 22 different oils to all our oil loving die-hard fans, and to introduce to others, who have not discovered our products and the wonderful benefits of avocado oil. It’s very exciting for us to offer tastings to new fans and their enjoyment in discovering the natural goodness and exquisite taste of these beautiful oils.
It is certainly a whirlwind four days with so many people passing through and over the weekend, there were more than thirty thousand people that came through, and to our delight, hundreds of bottles of Olivado oil sold. We were kept very busy, talking about our oils, sampling, selling, and the time passed quickly as the weekend was brimming with the buzz and energy of people passionate about food.
Pip and Kerry from Olivado along with a few locals joined in the fun on stand G31, where they shared information on nutrition, swapped cooking ideas, laughed and entertained people from all over. We did tastings of 18 different oils and at the end of the day, were exhausted and all talked out.
It was our first opportunity to share with everyone at this amazing event, our two new oils.
Avocado infused with garlic
Everyone loved the smooth, mild taste of this beautiful oil, infused with essential garlic oil. A great oil to use in all styles of cooking and marinades, and also the perfect finish to pour over salads and vegetables.
Avocado oil infused with lime
Our other new product offers the mild taste of avocado infused with the zing of lime, which is again suitable to use for all types of cooking, and perfect for that finish where you crave the fresh flavours of summer and you want to really give your food a zing.
Both of these new products received glowing reports and it was great to hear everyone sharing with us their favourite recipes and how they were going to use these oils to enhance their food, either by cooking with them or using as a dressing or a garnish.
Stay tuned for more fabulous recipes coming soon on our website.
The Olivado range of oils is available selectively at Countdown, New World and all good food stores.
As always, the Food Show received very good coverage and this year it was featured on Breakfast TV, Paul Henry’s show, Newshub, One News, Bite Magazine and Radio Live.
It’s a full-on, action-packed, exciting four days and at the end of it, we are all exhausted, exhilarated and proud to be able to be present all our beautiful oils to the people who have come to be inspired by food.
We will be back in 2017 to do it all over again – see you then.
In the meantime you can find out more about our exceptional range of oils here.
