Our Macadamia, peanut, and almond infused oils will drive you nuts!

While Olivado is world-famous for our exceptional extra-virgin avocado oil, it’s not the only delicious cooking oil we produce.

In fact, we have a wide-range of mouth-watering oils, perfect for any occasion.

For those of you with a taste for nuts, we have three special oils, made from macadamia, peanut and almond, all of which offer their own unique taste and flavour to any dish.

Olivado Macadamia nut oil

Olivado’s Macadamia Nut Oil

Hailing from Australia, macadamia nuts are chock-full of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

They are some of the most useful nuts in the world, with everything from the husk to the oil being used in some way. From the cosmetics industry to animal feed, macadamia nuts are in-demand the world over.

Olivado’s extra virgin macadamia nut oil contains one of the highest levels of monounsaturated fats amongst all food oils, and at 84%, is even higher than Olive Oil.

The good news is - this is the healthy type of saturated fat, monounsaturated. This type of fat helps fight cholesterol by bringing the bad type of fat (LDL cholesterol) back to the liver, where it is processed and passed through the body naturally.

Macadamia nuts are also a great source of fibre, with just 30 grams containing 10% of your recommended daily needs.

Olivado Peanut oil

Olivado’s Extra-Virgin Peanut oil

Peanut oil has been a staple in Asian and Middle Eastern cooking for centuries, even though it originated in South America.

An amazingly versatile nut (although technically a legume), peanuts can be eaten raw, salted or roasted, and as an ingredient, they can be made into oil, peanut butter, or made into margarine.

Peanuts are also great for baking, and you’ll usually find them in cookies or pies. They  also give satay sauce its unique and distinctive flavour.

As well as being delicious, peanuts also come with a myriad of health benefits.

Studies have shown eating a handful of peanuts everyday can reduce heart disease by a staggering 50%, and reduce risk of stroke by 9%.

Peanuts are full of Vitamin E, which is good for the brain, reducing the onset of dementia and other cognitive disorders. They also contain resveratrol, which helps lower blood pressure by fighting hormones which affect blood vessels, and thus reducing the risk of heart-attacks.

Olivado Sweet Almond oil

Olivado’s Sweet Almond Oil

An essential ingredient in French and Italian baking, our extra-virgin sweet almond oil has a million and one uses in cooking.

Used in both sweet and savoury dishes, almonds can be made into flour, butter, and milk, or simply eaten raw. Their sweet flavour makes them desirable for desserts and salads, and whether they’re ground, sliced, or whole, almonds are eaten every day by millions all over the globe.

Almonds, like all nuts, are high in fats, but around 10 – 15% of the calories in them are not absorbed by the body. This means you can munch away on them without worrying about getting fat like you would with normal chocolate treats.

Almonds are also rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which promote healthy blood flow to the scalp. This is great for your hair, making it strong, soft, and shiny. It’s these same essential minerals which help control blood sugar levels, which is great if you’re diabetic.

Retain all the goodness along with the taste

Nuts are packed with vitamins, nutrients, and anti-oxidants, which help with everything from eyesight to bowel disease.

Unfortunately, many of these qualities are lost in the traditional extraction process. This is why we created our cold-pressed extraction method.

By keeping the process below 50° at all times, we discovered we can keep the natural goodness contained with the nut.

This extraction method is now used around the world, pioneered right here in New Zealand by Olivado, something we are very proud of.

Our nut infused cooking oils will turn any dish from average into 5 stars, perfect if you’re cooking for others and want to impress, or simply want to treat yourself to something nice.
